EAST WINDSOR — Police arrested two Granby residents Thursday afternoon after the pair left two children unattended in a parked car at the Wal-Mart parking lot, Police Chief Edward J. DeMarco Jr. said Friday.

Wafung Cheng, 30, was charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor and two counts of leaving a child unsupervised.

Juan Lin, 29, was charged with two counts of risk of injury and two counts of leaving a child unsupervised, and interfering with an officer.

Police received a call around 4:30 p.m. that two children were sitting inside a vehicle in Wal-Mart's parking lot, DeMarco said. Police found a 2-year-old and a 6-year-old inside a warm vehicle, he said.

DeMarco could not provide any details about the relationship between Cheng and Lin or the relationship between the children and Cheng and Lin because the police report had not yet been completed.

DeMarco also could not provide any information about Lin's interference with an officer.

Both Cheng and Lin are likely to appear in Enfield Superior Court in about a week and a half, DeMarco said.
