Electronic drop-off days set in Vernon

VERNON — Residents may drop off electronics free of charge next week at the transfer station.

Dates and hours are: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, July 23, and Saturday, July 26.

To obtain free entry into the facility, residents must have electronics only and proof of Vernon residency. Electronics mixed with bulky waste or metal will require a permit and a punchcard. No commercial electronics will be accepted, according to the Public Works Department.

All electronics dropped off will be recycled.

Acceptable items include all computer equipment including hard drives, printers, fax machines, modems, answering machines, VCRs, CD players, cell phones, stereo and radio equipment, toners, and cartridges.

Televisions will not be accepted as part of this free drop-off; a permit and punchcard will be required for disposal.
