What do the words petty, vengeful, vindictive, and mean-spirited have in common?

They all describe the actions of the Republican members of the Vernon Town Council.

They saw fit to reject the reappointment of Michael Winkler to the board of the Community Voice Channel and the proposed appointment of Martin Burke as town attorney. Both individuals are respected members of our community who should not have been subjected to such public humiliation.

Who's next on their hit list? Perhaps Santa Claus, for leaving coal in their stockings for such a shameful display of partisan political gamesmanship.
